What are the Limitations of Magic?
I laughed when my hubby posed that very question to me this morning...and then I realized that it wasn't so silly of a question. The only limitations on magic other than what you impose upon it, are that you can not create love, money magic has some limitations, and that you can not bring back a person exactly as there were from the dead. Those are the only three limitations that I know of!
There is the art of necromancy, in which case, you can reanimate a dead body, BUT, it would be more like a vampire, than the person you once knew. People have found old grimoires with instructions on how to raise the dead. Now some of them actually contain how to do it, BUT, they usually leave out a few details. Like how to protect your self from the vampiric dead person, when you do reanimate them.
There is a story about a few necromancers, who successfully raised a dead guy in England. Upon his re-waking up, the dead man killed two of the three people who woke him up. He mutilated the bodies and the third person barely escaped with his life. The one who escaped, was found wondering around the streets of England, dazed and confused. Mumbling to him self about how, " He killed them," was about all they could understand from him. Needless to say, the who escaped, was arrested and charged with tampering with a grave, grave robbing, because they couldn't find the body, since it had been animated and is now lose, and murdering the other two necromancers. Of course, the poor sap didn't murder them, but what cop in his right mind, in the 20th century is going to believe that someone could raise the dead? The guy ended up in an insane asylum for criminals.
Love spells work BUT they do not produce Real Love! They can induce infatuation, lust, like, but not love. It can fan the fires of passion, and exasperate feelings that already exist. But not true love. It can draw your soul-mate to you, or a potential lover, but again, it can't make them love you.
If you have absolutely no avenue for money to come to you, then don't do money drawing magic. Money magic can be tricky! If you are disabled, and can't work even under the table, don't do money drawing magic because how would it be able to find a way to come to you? Usually, in those cases, someone will die in your family and leave you money. You could get into an accident and sue someone for money, etc.! Unfortunately, if there is no avenue for the money to come to you and you keep asking, well, there are consequences, and it will find an unfavorable way in which to come to you. That is why whenever I do money work, I specify, that "Money should come to me through all good ways, so no one gets hurt, and no one dies in order for me to get money!" That helps, but if there is absolutely no way for the money to come to me....I just don't ask!
