My One Good Teacher...
I hope everyone finds a Great teacher first....but it doesn't always happen that way! I had two bad ones and then I was lucky to find the third Good teacher! Third time is the charm! I know he's a great teacher because:
1. He has talked me out of asking him for readings and trying to hire him when it was clearly unnecessary and I was over reacting.
2. He Actually teaches me about real magic, and doesn't try to thwart me by giving me bunk knowledge or half of the recipe.
3. He has many students, who are capable, knowledgeable, and listen to him. You can always tell a bad teacher by how little students he has and what kind of students he has. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
4. He doesn't get involved with drama.
5. He actually practices what he preaches.
6. He keeps up with his practice. My last teacher left his offering cups to mold...just saying.
And I could keep going on but I'm sure you all get the point. The new teacher walks the talk he talks. And he is Very funny, personable, nice, humble, well spoken, and vastly knowledgeable! I couldn't have been blessed with a better teacher, especially after everything I have been through. And the best part, (as with anyone) so long as I give him no reason to hate me, he will never betray me or try to kill me! Why, cause he's not a filthy asshole like the other two!
One of the best ways to judge a teacher is by how many students he has and how well he maitains his altars and practice. If he has mold in his offering glasses all the time, and Almost All of his students leave him within a year....probably not a good teacher to learn from. If he doesn't honor his Spirits with respect and regularly, maybe not every day but often....probably not worth your time. If this so called teacher you are looking into is always coming up with some way for you to pay them money....probably not worth the dime or the time.
And the most important tip I can give you is listen to that little quiet voice inside of your head. If you get even an inkling that something is fishy...walk away and don't look back. Don't want to be rude, make up some excuse to leave and don't come back. Take their number, say thanks, and don't call. It's just that simple! Give them a made up number and don't care! Because, if a schemer and a scamer thinks they got a money pouch in their hand, they aren't going to let you go so easy! Trust me I know! I've had to block both of my ex teachers from my Facebook, phone, email...etc...because they just wouldn't stop trying to get me back. They tried everything from fake hellos, to remember me's, to you're in-trouble and only I can help you, and threats. A scumbag finds it hard to let go of someone they can manipulate and get money from. It makes them feel powerful, and they get to spend your hard earned money. Why should they let you go so easily (in their minds)?
